What is a Special Order?
A special order is any color, size and/or finish of a material that is not held as a standard stock item at Verona Marble Company, but is available from our factory or other supplier.
For example, the color Botticino is stocked in the 30 x 30 cm polished tiles, as well as 1.2 cm, 2 cm and 3 cm polished slabs. An order for 40 x 40 cm polished tiles of Botticino is considered a special order since we do not stock that size. Likewise, an order for 30 x 30 cm honed finish tiles is considered a special order since we do not stock the honed finish.
What are the minimum order quantities?
30 x 30 x 0.9 cm tiles = 440 tiles
40 x 40 x 1.2 cm tiles = 156 tiles (268.32 sqft)
60 x 60 x 1.2cm tiles = 76 tiles (294.5 sqft)
1.2 cm slabs = 30 slabs
2 cm slabs = 20 slabs
3 cm slabs = 13 slabs
What is the lead time for special orders?
The typical lead time for special orders is 10-12 weeks after receipt of purchase order and deposit. However, this time frame can vary greatly due to Italian holidays and the production schedule.
What are the terms and conditions of special order marble colors?
All special orders require a 50% nonrefundable deposit with the written purchase order. This deposit requirement applies to all customers, including those with credit terms. The 50% balance can be applied to client’s credit account, up to the limit of the client’s account. If the client does not have credit with VMC, the 50% balance is due prior to shipping. |

What is a Custom Color?
A widely used advantage to the design community is the use of custom colors. The possibilities are endless, limited only to our imagination. Over the decades, Santa Margherita has produced custom colors for our clients ranging from matching a school’s mascot color to matching a product’s logo colors.
The custom color process begins with the color choice(s) by the designer/architect. This can be done with the identification of Pantone color(s), and/or submittal of paint chips or even fabric swatches. Inclusion of mirror, glass and/or oyster (mother of pearl) chips is also a design feature available. The factory will produce four 6” x 6” tiles on the sample production press for approval. The final selection of color will produce a unique installation, rivaling none.
What are the minimum order quantities?
For tiles (any standard size): 10,500 sqft
For 1.2 cm slabs: 300 slabs
For 2 cm slabs: 200 slabs
For 3 sm slabs: 150 slabs
What is the lead time for custom color orders?
The lead time for a custom color will depend on availability of the raw materials that make up the final approved sample. Typical lead time is 12-14 weeks after sample approval and receipt of deposit
